SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

CCA can provide guidance and project support to communities and individuals considering sustainable development. Sustainable development, whether applied to economic or physical growth, considers the long-term impact upon the health and well being of the man-made and natural environment. Sustainable development objectives are achieved through a variety of ways; including, conservation of natural resources, pollution prevention, reduced consumption and waste, and alternative designs and technologies.

CCA can also assist in identifying potential environmental impacts in communities, and on specific properties.

Review of the overall environmental impact of a proposed development on a community or site under the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and Federal NationalEnvironmental Protection Act (NEPA).

Review and analysis of publicly available data, including
industrial emissions of toxic substances to air, water and land; storage and transport of hazardous waste; locations of Superfund and Brownfield (toxic waste) sites; radon zone maps; hazards material permits and violations of record.
